I just watched the vote. "Don't ask, don't tell," is repealed. All it needs is Pres. Obama's signature. And, y'know, all those certifications of readiness from the military people. But it will happen.
I can hardly believe it!
I think this will have a big effect on other court cases moving through the system. Federal benefits are not too far behind.Wow.
AAAAAHHAHHHAHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sorry I can't be more articulate. This is just fucking wonderful news.
Monica, that's articulate enough for me :)
:)I have a good friend in Amsterdam who's sworn not to come back home until her marriage was recognized in all 50 states. She's been there for ten years. One step closer...
Monica, yes. This really is a a crack in the dam -- (nearly said, hole in the dyke :) It's exciting.
No way!No way! This has to be just the best news to wake up to. Oh wow, earlier this week I thought it would be YEARS until this finally changed and then just like that. Wow! I am, wow. Just wow.
It's an x-mass miracle :DI guess everyone did wish really hard!
Awesome! It's nice to see all the signed petitions and e-petitions and emails have a positive effect. Whew!
Just saw this somewhere else. So happy.
