Very nifty book cover

Oooh, this is nifty! Drag your mouse over it:

Sadly, it's Flash, so it won't play on many mobile systems. Sorry. It seems a pity that someone would go to so much trouble to make something on Flash, which has been slowly fading into the west ever since the iPhone launched, and is now Officially Dead.

How easy is it to do something like that in HTML5? That's a real question. I've no idea how this stuff works. But I think it would be cool to have a cover for Hild where the grass ripples, the trees shiver, and the water laps...

  1. Not that difficult. Adobe has positioned Flash (the developer tool) as a development environment for HTML5. Write your application/widget well and it can be run on both Flash (the desktop plugin, which isn't going away, except maybe on Windows 8) and HTML5.

    Horrible performance though.

  3. I wish I could test it on my iThings, see if a harder tap makes for bigger ripple. A faster mouse hit seems to, but it's hard to tell.

Maybe someone with an Android tablet could test it.

  5. Thats brilliant!

It remindes me of the the spider I have on my info page (I got it at abowman.com) that follows the mouse.

This water effect is hypnotic, I fidn I have to tear myself away from it otherwise I would be messign with it all day.

You should certainly figure out how to do something like this for your books.
