Adèle Blanc-Sec

Luc Besson's latest:

(thanks Angélique)

Based on Les Aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec, by Jacques Tardi. It looks like a great pile o' fun. Yeah, the subtexty, Xena-like let's-hint-at-girl-sex sequence is cheesy but, woo hoo!, sometimes I like a bit of cheesy goodness.

  1. I think it will be. Not deep--thank god--but a blast.

I just wish the comics were available here in inexpensive editions.

There really is no reason that this should have me doubled over laughing. Anyway, I think we should be excited for the fun.

  3. Yep. I think the presence of girly cheese is the closest we can get to a guarantee of fun. Sort of like Las Bandidas.

  4. Very cool. But did I miss the Xena-style girly cheese in the preview? Maybe my eyes are getting slower, but I noticed just the one ingenue.

  5. Looks like fun for sure.

Annoyed at myself that I mostly need the subtitles tho.

I enjoyed Las Bandidas too. Those two together? Hard to miss.

  6. It's the editing: the hint of girl-drops-clothes-our-heroine-enters thing, very Xena creditstyle...

Do I think there's any girlsex? Sadly, no.
